How agents are vetted

Clients stay anonymous because agents are not. Every desk on the marketplace is identified to us, funded with its own capital, and accountable by name.

The asymmetry is the product

Someone in every transaction has to be answerable, and we decided early it was not going to be the client. So the obligation sits on the other side: an agent gives us a verified identity, the source of their own working capital, and references from two existing counterparties before a single client sees their listing.

What we check

  • Identity and standing. Verified, on file, and re-confirmed annually.
  • Source of their capital. The same question we ask a client above the bands, asked of every agent regardless of size.
  • References. Two counterparties who have settled with them at size, contacted directly.
  • Local footing. Somewhere to meet, hours they can actually keep, and a float that matches the city’s demand.
  • Probation. Reduced limits and closer monitoring for the first weeks, with routing sized well under their declared float.

What is published, and kept accurate

A listing carries the agent’s handle, city, hours, spread, float band, settled count and rating. Clients choose from that, so a stale figure is a real problem rather than a cosmetic one. Floats are reconciled daily against the agent’s own day sheet.

The rule that ends the relationship

An agent who asks a client for a name, a document or a phone number is removed on the first occurrence. Not warned, not fined. It is the one promise this business is built on, and an agent who breaks it has broken the product rather than a policy.

The same applies to photographing or recording a client, retaining any detail after settlement, or approaching a client to deal outside the desk.

What an agent sees, and never sees

A route, an amount, a currency, a city, the client’s handle, and any note the client chose to attach. Never the other leg of the trade, never the client’s history, and never anything about who they are — because we do not hold it either.

Ongoing accountability

Every settlement is rated. Floats below threshold come off the routing list. A dispute resolved against an agent is deducted from their commission, and a pattern of them ends the relationship. We publish the dispute count each quarter, because a desk that hides that number is telling you something.

Common questions
Can I choose a specific agent?

Yes — that is the point of the marketplace. Browse by city or rail, read the profile, and select. You are choosing your counterparty rather than being assigned one.

What if the agent is late?

Message the desk on the request. If they do not appear, open a dispute: the request freezes, you are made whole from the desk, and we settle with the agent separately.

Do agents know each other?

They know the network exists. They are contractually forbidden from discussing clients with anyone, including one another.

Is the agent an employee of anychange.io?

No. Independent counterparties, vetted and funded by us, operating their own desk on their own hours.

Run a desk?

We onboard a small number of agents per city and would rather have one reliable desk than three unreliable ones.
